Welcome to the Jinnah Burn & Reconstructive Surgery Centre (JB&RSC), where we offer top-notch specialized treatment to major burn patients. Since its inception in November 2014, our center has become one of the largest and most advanced healthcare facilities in the public sector, with a bed capacity of 78. Our goal is to provide the best possible care to our patients and make a significant contribution to the Government of Punjab’s healthcare initiatives.
We provide a wide range of services, including burn management with ICU care, skin allografts, rehabilitation, occupational therapy, scar management, reconstructive surgery for traumatic and congenital deformities, tumor board, and multidisciplinary management of cancer patients. Additionally, we offer microsurgery and limb replantation services and training in burn management and reconstructive microsurgery.
Our state-of-the-art research laboratory, in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence in Microbiology (CEMB) at the University of Punjab, is working on Stem Cells and Karatinocytes. Our lab has recently developed Acellular Dermis to be used as a skin substitute in burn and trauma patients. Each year, we see approximately 31,000 patients in our Out Patient Department (OPD) and perform around 3,000 major surgeries.
JB&RSC is not only a leading center for the treatment of burn victims but also a center to develop SOPs and treatment protocols for other burn centers across the province. Our dedicated Pathology Lab, Radiology, and Physiotherapy Departments, and our team of 387 employees, including doctors, nurses, allied health services, and ministerial staff, work together to provide the best possible care.
Our achievements and distinctions include training the highest number of plastic and reconstructive surgeons (>60) in the country, having the first and only Skin Bank in Pakistan, being the largest Limb Replantation Centre of the Country (24/7), having a Stem Cell & Genetic Diseases Research Lab with the first GMP facility in the country, and being the largest reconstructive microsurgery services provider in the country.
Our 78 bedded high-tech state-of-the-art center is equipped with all modern facilities for the management of burn injuries. We have well-equipped wards and rooms for patients with special burn beds and the latest monitoring equipment. Our facility includes a resuscitation area, an Intensive Care Unit with 10 beds, a High Dependency Unit with 6 beds, 2 Acute Burn Theatres, 4 Reconstruction Theatres, a Burn Ward with 24 beds, a Reconstructive Surgery Ward with 24 beds, 14 Private Rooms, a Day Care Surgery Unit, an Out-Patients Department, a Clinical Pathology Lab & Blood Bank, Radiology, Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation, a Multipurpose Conference Hall, a Skin Bank, a Stem Cell Lab, Support Services (CSSD & Laundry), Automation/Computerization for effective inventory and financial management, and a Fire Safety/Fire-fighting System & CCTV surveillance facility.
