Prof. Moazzam Tarar is a highly accomplished plastic surgeon with a distinguished career over three decades. He completed his MBBS from King Edward Medical College, Lahore in 1985, followed by FRCS from England in 1990. He completed higher surgical training in Plastic Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1994. Prof. Tarar joined Allama Iqbal Medical College affiliated with Jinnah Hospital, Lahore as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery in April 1995. He is the founder and Executive Director of Jinnah Burn & Reconstructive Surgery Centre (JB&RSC), Lahore, a mega project in the health sector that he conceived, planned and executed.

Currently, Prof. Tarar is working as a Professor and Head of the Plastic Surgery Department at Allama Iqbal Medical College/Jinnah Hospital Lahore. He has been honored with several prestigious awards for his contributions to the field of plastic surgery, including an honorary Fellowship in Plastic Surgery from the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Pakistan in 2010 and the SITARA-E-IMTIAZ by the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in 2014. He is also the country’s highest trainer of plastic surgeons, having trained over 60 trainees in FCPS & MS in Plastic Surgery.
Prof. Tarar is an examiner of FCPS and MS in the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan, University of Health Sciences, University of the Punjab, King Edward Medical University, and Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, Islamabad. He is the Dean of the Faculty of Plastic Surgery at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan, as well as Chairman of the Specialist Advisory Committee of Plastic Surgery at the University of Health Sciences. He has served as past President of the Pakistan Association of Plastic Surgeons (PAPS) and is currently President of the Pakistan Burn Association (PBA) and National Secretary of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS).
Prof. Tarar is a globally renowned plastic surgeon, having been invited as a Keynote Speaker at the National Societies of Plastic Surgeons of the U.K. and Italy. He is a regular invited faculty member for Advance Training Courses in Limb Reconstruction arranged by the British Association of Aesthetic, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons (BAPRAS) and Reconstructive Microsurgery Courses by the Italian Microsurgery Society. He is the founder and Course Director of JB&RSC/JHL Reconstructive Microsurgery & Burn Courses, accredited by BAPRAS and the Royal College of Surgeons of England (UK) for CME.
Prof. Tarar has been spearheading charity missions for cleft lip/palate and burn victims in Gilgit-Baltistan since 2009 on an annual basis. He was appointed Focal Person for training in Plastic Surgery and burns by the Health Department Punjab in 2008, and Chairman of the Committee for revamping of Acute Burn Services in Punjab by the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department in 2017. Currently, he is steering the Nayee Zindagi Program, a project of the Government of the Punjab, Punjab Social Protection Authority under the Ehsaas Program, Government of Pakistan. Prof. Tarar has contributed to more than 80 research publications in international and national medical journals and has also authored chapters in several medical books, including the Oxford Textbook of Plastic Surgery, Clinical Application of Stem Cells, and Handbook of Infection Control & Prevention.
